ABOUT OUR SENSEI
«Sensei is a Japanese title used to
refer to or address teachers, professionals such as lawyers and doctors,
politicians, clergymen, and other figures of authority. It is also used
to show respect to someone who has achieved a certain level of mastery
in an art form or some other skill: accomplished novelists, musicians,
and artists are addressed with the title in this way; for example,
Japanese manga fans refer to manga artist Osamu Tezuka as "Tezuka-sensei."
Sensei is also one of the common Japanese martial arts titles.»

Raynald Fleury
practiced martial arts for over 30 years. He started to practice at age
7 in France and was soon brought to traditionnal japanese arts. He then
went to Japan where he studied with Michio Hikitsuchi sensei and with
Morihiro Saito sensei. He moved from Europe to Quebec in 1998, after
getting his 4th dan, to deepen
his search for a deep meaning of martial arts.
Raynald Fleury sensei

Raynald's vision of Aikido is unique because of
his understanding of the principles that extend beyond the techniques
and movements. His approach gives the opportunity for students to
discover Ki, energy for which he devoted himself for several years. He
teaches Aikido to students as the founder Morihei Ueshiba tought his
art, without hierarchy or politics.

In sum, we choose Raynald Fleury sensei for his depth and experience in
martial arts, but above all because he presents himself as a researcher
of martial arts rather than as a master, not that he does not own the
skills of a master, but rather because he practices constantly, and his
art evolves. As he steps on the tatami mat, he is a student at the same
level as all other students. He learns the art of Aikido. It is in this
atmosphere of authenticity that we practice Aikido with Raynald.
